I WONDERED WHY

I wondered why I came this way.

It was a path I would not choose.

But God said, “Child, just hold my hand

I’m teaching you things you will use.”

I wondered why I met that man.

He was pock marked deeply by sin.

And God said, “Child, just hold his hand,

He’s a diamond I want you to win.”

I wondered why I could not go

Where my heart was longing to be.

God said, “Child, hold steady brave heart

At My feet is where I’ve called you to be.”

I wondered why. I questioned God.

Agendas abandoned made me vacillate..

But God said, “Child you are a treasure to Me

You’ve learned the wisdom of obedience late.”

Now, I wonder not when my path is rough..

I am walking by faith and not by my sight.

I wonder why I could not let go?

Because, I was held in His arms so tight!

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: Looking back over your life, list the questions for which you had no answers?

Journal those for which you have answers today. Note the ones that were the most urgent, the least urgent, and those that seem insignificant now. Is it wrong to question God? Journal the reasons for your answer.

DEAR LORD, Thank You that You are not annoyed when I ask questions. Thank You for the fact that even You felt lonely enough to ask God a question from the cross. Because of my sin, You asked that question. You DO answer every question I ask. Your answer is yes, no or wait. Thank You that You will never turn Your back on me

Thank You for the hope that someday all our questions will have answers. In Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
