SEEKER APPEAL

I saw a popular personality but I rarely saw the Lord.

I went to a Christian service but there was only fun on board.

I enjoyed an Easter Production and, the actors played so well.

But no one told a sinful heart how he could be saved from hell.

I rejoiced with the Christmas music, sang with gratitude Thanksgiving songs.

Plenty of talent and personality but no Gospel declared to the swelling throngs.

Lord, forgive our professional talents if we do not offer Your Gospel’s Good  News

May we keep Your Word so appealing that no one will Your message refuse.

JOURNAL JOTTINGS- Creativity is used to draw folk  into our churches. Sometimes the Message is lost in the methods used.  Journal your experiences with this statement. Jesus didn’t die to entertain folk. He died to save them.

How might the holiday plans for your church ensure that the message of the Gospel is never lost. Write a prayer to read at a choir practise or production rehearsal. Encourage folk to pray about their involvement in these activities.

Journal the creativity you could use this year at your church to honor the Lord.

DEAR LORD, Thank you for the personalities and creativity that blossoms in our communities during holiday times. Thank you for Thanksgiving, Easter, and Christmas when we honor You. Help us to keep in mind the true meaning behind these celebrations. Guide us in our plans so that even the tools we use to celebrate honor You. May the focus be about You and Your Message.  In Jesus’ Name, AMEN
