GOD IS IN THE DETAILS

I saw God in the sunset

And in the baby’s birth.

But where was God in the car park,

When my space was stolen by a jerk?

I heard God in the sermon.

I felt Him in my prayer.

But where was He when the dinner burned

Or when I fell on the floor and lay there?

I know God is in the big stuff.

He cares about details too.

Help me remember He’s teaching me

When Plan ‘A” is not carried through.

If God sees my mundane moments,

And He forgives my human heart.

Help me to trust Him completely

Especially when my cold car won’t start!

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: Faithfulness is less dramatic than superlatives. Journal the faithfulness of God in the ordinary things of life during the past week. If we have a relationship with God, we know Him. If we know Him, we are acquainted with how He expects us to conduct our daily lives. What part of your life is God led, and you don’t need to keep checking in with Him about it?  You know that you know what you should be doing. Spiritual disciplines look after the details for us and for Him. Write God an appreciation letter for your journal.

DEAR LORD, Thank you for understanding when I lost my temper. You were angry a few times yourself. The difference is that you never sinned in Your anger, and I did. Forgive me Lord. Thank you for reminding me of the Ten Commandments Thank You for Your Word. These tools keep me disciplined enough to follow You in obedience every day. Thank You for the wonderful way of life I have walking hand in hand with YOU. I love you Lord and I know You love me too. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN
