January 11-Luke 23:26-“They laid hold upon one Simon ..and on him they laid the cross”

Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today

HE WILL LOOK

God will look after the lonely.

God will offer them His relief.

The surrender with which His is calling

In our obedience might cause another soul grief.

I am delighted to willingly obey Him.

In joy, I bask in the privilege surrender brings.

When someone on me becomes dependent

It is time to sever ungodly emotional strings.

The cost is difficult but often freeing.

The cost can sometimes be misunderstood.

Obeying the voice of the Master

Is difficult but will bring Godly good.

Simon obediently worked with the Master.

Simon was the last to serve Him well.

Simon carried the cross for Jesus.

Simon helped to keep souls from hell.

God forgive my confusions in battle.

Forgive those who try to pull my controls.

Choosing to obey you is a pleasure.

Simon obeyed and shared eternal goals.

Help me to be like Simon.

Available, waiting for God’s Call.

I’d rather be a servant on the sidelines

Than miss serving my Jesus at all!

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: What was the function of Simon? List the emotions he must have felt after he was commandeered. Have you ever felt like Simon? Servanthood has no labels of prestige. Journal the most humiliating thing you ever did. How did God use it for His Honor? List some unsung heroes you know. Eternity will reveal their value.

Dear Lord, Thank you for the privilege of serving. Help me to remember Simon as I try to carry Your cross daily. Thank you Lord, for all unsung heroes.  Give me the privilege of finding an obedient role of servanthood for You everyday. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
