January 18-John 20:28- “Thomas answered and said unto Him, My Lord and My God.”

Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today

NEVER

Never let the project eclipse the Reason why you serve.

Never let performance

Shroud the message that is heard.

Never despise the experience you’ve had. God has Called you by name.

Never deny your servant heart

Unless your goal is fame.

Never forget the horrors of hell. Keep focused on why Christ came

Never allow the crowds applause

Keep you fickle and waiting for gain.

Never let the focus be lost. Declare war on evil and sin.

Never forget His mercy and love

And His Grace that took us in.

Never forget He loves if we doubt. Never forget that He cares.

Never forget that through sunshine or rain.

God’s Word is the Truth we declare.

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: Are you critical of Thomas? Journal his emotional responses to Jesus. How might that compare with yours? Focus is important in ministry. What made Thomas a valuable asset in the early church? What is my value in today’s church? Distractions keep us from truth. What distractions do you have today? Journal methods to keep focused on Him.

Dear Lord, Thank you for the very human frailties of Bible characters. Thank you for the freedom of honest doubting that Thomas admits. Thank you that welcome an honest doubter. You even provide special agendas for us. Help me to lovingly deal with those who still doubt. Doubters make fine soul winners. They have searched and found You for themselves. May my transparent honesty be a tool to win them to You. Forgive me. Lord, when I doubt too much. Increase my faith.  In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
