January 19- Genesis 15:12-‘’..a horror of darkness fell upon him.”
Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today
GOD IS IN THE SILENCE
God is in the silence, when it feels like pending doom.
God is in the silence, because He never left the room.
Depression is so awful, but God is still right there.
He’s waiting close beside you, when you feel life’s deep despair.
God waits in silence for you. He never creates a fuss.
God is in the tender quiet and He loves you very much.
Now rest upon your pillow. You’re too tired to worry so
God wants to solve it for you. As you forgive and let it go.

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: Abraham experienced 13 years of silence. Depression is a dreadfully lonely time. A high percentage of honest godly people admit to times of extreme loneliness. The Holy Spirit is that Comforter provided. Journal your personal journey through loneliness. Learn to recognize truly lonely people. Try mentoring.
Dear Lord, You were sometimes the loneliest Man on earth. On the cross You experienced the worst period of loneliness because God turned His back on You.
He could not look at my sin that You were carrying. Thank you for sending us the Comforter of the Holy Spirit. Remind me to call on Him perpetually. Thank you for the work and truth of the trinity. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
PS: Thanks Lord for the example of Abraham’s humanity and frailties and he was still called “A friend of God.” Help me to be Your Friend today too.
