January 30-I Samuel 3:15-“And Samuel feared to show Eli the vision.”

SPEAK LORD

Speak Lord in a vision, in a dream or memory clear.

Speak Lord, I am listening. May my mind be alert to hear?

Speak Lord in the stillness of a lazy afternoon.

Speak Lord in the morning or maybe well past noon.

Speak Lord and in Your speaking, will You offer the weary rest?

Speak Lord in the darkness. I need Your guided best.

Speak Lord. Please make it simple. My love receptors are all worn.

Speak Lord in the stillness where privileged creativity is born.

Speak Lord, I am waiting in my loneliness for You.

Speak Lord, I am ready, releasing all tearful cares to You.

****************

Lord, You alone are worthy. To You alone I’ll praise.

Help me to listen closely, as You guide my steps each day.

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: Samuel had a sacred surprise at an early age. Journal your first encounter with God. What were the results? How long has it been since God has spoken to you? What methods might He use? List them. Now watch for future encounters. Journal the  privileges, the message and the results. Date them.

DEAR LORD, Thank you that you love us as much as you loved the boy Samuel. Help us to be listening closely for fresh encounters with You. Some messages will require obedience. Samuel’s was not easy, nor was Mary’s. Help us to follow You and listen for Your directions daily. May we appreciate the privileges of intimacy with You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
