APRIL 10

Romans 6:6-“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.”

Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today

FUNERAL

I had a funeral for my sins today.

I let them die away from me.

For all of my sin my Jesus died

Because of Calvary’s cleansing, I’m free.

I had a funeral for my sin today.

The past is forgiven and wiped clean.

The devil is mad and I am glad

Now entirely on Jesus I lean.

I had a funeral for my sin today.

I was thankful for the loss.

I am alive and free today

Because of Jesus’ Blood at the cross.

I had a funeral of my past and its pain.

I had a funeral to mourn life’s waste.

Now I am rejoicing and free today

Christianity is an adventure with taste.

Launching ahead with my Lord at the helm.

Adventures with Him are new every day.

The Spirit of God still searches my heart

With joy I now walk in His Way.

JOURNAL JOTTINGS or Points to Ponder: If sin is to be removed it must be “killed” out of me. Are there things that need to be searched for and removed from my life?

Constantly allowing the Holy Spirit to search and destroy evil in my life is a life long process. The freedom that follows the pain of extraction is well worth the toil. Explain.

Dear Lord, thank you for constantly reminding me of Your Presence. Keep my life in the “Funeral mode” so that I will immediately crucify anything that comes between You and me. Help me to remember that after every crucifixion there is a resurrection. Thank you for resurrecting what You want to have resurrected in my life. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
