APRIL 11

Romans 6:5- “For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection.”

Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today

LIKENESS TO HIM

You look just like your Father.

You have your Uncle’s nose.

Your personality is like my Brother’s

But you are yourself from head to toe.

People comment about our features.

Comparisons are made everyday.

But I wonder since my resurrection

Have I grown spiritually in any way?

Has Jesus warmed or changed my disposition?

Or  sometimes is He  an unwelcome guest?

Has His likeness been etched on my countenance?

Have I changed noticeably for the best?

Have I allowed Him to develop my obedience?

Do I walk in confidence with His eternal view?

Has His resurrection so changed my life-style?

That His joy and His peace shine through?

Lord, help me to grow so close to the Father

That I share what His resurrection has done.

May the Holy Spirit saturate my being

Until folk comment, “You resemble His Son.”

POINTS TO PONDER or JOURNAL: Family members resemble each other. Which family member do folk say you resemble? Journal your feelings about this comparison.

What part of the personality of Christ do you most enjoy? Are you acquiring it? Have you asked for it? Is it possible for this to grow in a Spirit Filled life? Try asking and seeking it. Sing the old chorus, LET THE BEAUTY OF JESUS BE SEEN IN ME.

Dear Lord, Thank you for the intimacy of Your Presence. Please invade every part of my life until You are seen high and lifted up.  Thank you for the Privileges of walking with You everyday, all day long. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
