Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today

MORE THAN I DESERVE

These moments of tender insight

These hours of pleasure with Him

Can never be duplicated or copied

They are His treasured gifts, not a whim.

These moments of spiritual discernment

Are gifts to be cherished from Him

They are not perpetual or constant

But opportunities for life’s problems to dim.

If I want to know about Jesus

If I want to bask in His embrace

Then I’ll quickly return to His Presence

Whatever He reveals, I will face.

His love, His approval, His Presence

Are much more than this Pilgrim deserves.

Intimacy and solitude in His Presence

Create space for His anointing to be observed.

So no matter the season or the endeavor.

No matter what task lies ahead.

This Pilgrim will faithfully praise Him

And rejoice in the way she is led.

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: Faithfulness with consistency is a lost art. Recall the times when praise and service were an effort. Inspiration is a gift from God. Faithfulness is too.  How did God meet and encourage you when your humanity didn’t feel “up to it”? What did you learn during the “lack of inspiration” times?

Dear Lord, Thank you for the consistent love You have for us all. Thank You for the sacred surprises You have bring when our energy level is depleted. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
