Luke 18:23- “And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful; for he was very rich.”
Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today
SORROWING SILENCE
He went away silently grieving, leaving that peaceful room.
His riches were his entanglement, creating a sense of doom.
He walked away without surrender. Depression opened the door.
Desperately longing for salvation, but disobedience won the war.
His will was the obstacle threatened. His will Satan possessively owned.
All that he valued was lost forever. Jesus had rattled his comfort zone.
Lord, walk across our hearts and our spirits. Release our wills from sin.
Beware of Satan’s evil traps unless we surrender our will to Him.

PONDER- How might a strong sense of responsibility keep us from obeying God? How might you have counseled the rich young man? What did he need to learn about fear and faith? List your fears. Date them. What solutions does God have from His Word for you? Which comes first, obedience or faith? Note the date and circumstances as your fears are: solved, replaced by faith or no longer a concern. Rejoice in the victories.
Dear Lord, Thank You that You are the Source and Supplier solving every need. Help me to obey and launch out in faith when You nudge me to obey. Help me to listen and obey Your Voice even when circumstances and fear press me to do the opposite. Increase my faith and obedience. Remind me that You are my Source. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
