AUGUST 2

John 16:33- “In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today

 THE STRAIN CREATES THE STRENGTH

The daily strain of life’s journey is a place for His Peace to work.

But the daily strain of the journey offers a place for Satan’s hook.

The daily strain of the journey is a place for God’s strength to grow.

If there is no strain on the journey, His Presence has no place to show.

The daily strain of the journey creates a hunger for God’s calm release.

The strength we need for life’s journey is proof of God’s Power and Peace.

The daily strains of the journey deepen spiritual stamina, God’s Way.

When we release each stress to Jesus, His Spirit renews every day.

Walk on, dear Pilgrim on the front lines. Walk on as you cherish your Call.

The battle will be won with God’s stamina. Claim His Word as you scale each wall.

PONDER-Have you ever felt that you could not handle one more stress and then something worse is added? Journal the process you went through releasing stresses to the Lord. Describe the relief and release you felt. Why did you not do it sooner? Create a formula for yourself to recognize, label and release stress in your life. They might include: Deep breathing, time to think, list making, problem solving skills, delegation, realization that all problems are not yours to solve. Most important parts of the equation  are prayer and faith. Peace comes from God. Tap His Sources. Find scriptures about PEACE. Write them out putting your name in each. E.g. Peace I give Marlene. Let not Marlene’s heart be troubled neither let Marlene be afraid.

Dear Lord, Thank you for caring for the daily stresses I face. Help me to realize that none of them are surprises to You. As I spent time with You in Your Word and in Prayer my coping mechanisms will improve and strengthen. Thank You that I can cast all my cares on You, because You care for me. Your love never changes. I love you Lord, In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
