 LODESTAR

(A lodestar is a star that guides or navigates.)

(Affinity- strong link or affection)

The lodestar is imperative to a sailor’s life at sea.

My lodestar is Jesus, my Guide and Stay will be.

A lodestar is stable. Fixed always in one place.

If life winds blow or batter, lodestars calm the pace.

My lodestar is Jesus. His unchanging focus is formed.

He decided my journey’s timing long before I was born.

I’ll keep my eyes on Jesus. My affinity to Him is sure.

My lodestar encourages while equipping me to endure.

I depend upon my Lodestar. He guides me night and day.

When human frailties weaken, He steadies all the way.

I must obey my Lodestar. I have no other choice.

My Lodestar is Jesus and I long to hear His Voice.

PONDER-Friendship has privileges and responsibilities. If Jesus is my friend then He is a responsible forever friend. Am I a forever friend to Him? If I am totally committed to Jesus Christ then I am delighted for Him to become my lodestar. On a scale of one to ten, how much of a lodestar is He in your life? Which areas are difficult to yield to Him? Try following Him a little more each day. Your trust in your Lodestar will grow. What part does time, faith, obedience and patience with yourself play in this equation? True devotion/friendship includes allowing Him to be your lodestar. Try it and watch for sacred surprises.

Dear Lord, Thank you for wanting to be my lodestar/friend. Help me to take the time to trust You more. Help me to be a faithful friend to You too. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
