AUGUST 28

Luke 11:1- “Lord, teach us to pray.”

Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today

 PRAYER

What is the value of prayer today? Does it merely make me feel good?

Or is it a tool to examine my heart teaching me to live like I should?

What is the value of praying once more? Should I call on God for this thing?

I have petitions many times. Is prayer simply whims on wings?

What is the purpose of praying at all? What are the results I should see?

“Dear Child,” the Father calls to me, “Each prayer moves something in thee.

Prayer is a magnet that draws you to Me. Prayer is My key to your heart.

Prayer alters attitudes, actions and plans. Dispositions are softer as a start.

Open your heart and pray once again. Open your mind as you speak.

Someday, somehow God’s answer will come. Prayer heals all character leaks.

So keep on praying, dear faithful heart. Keep on asking the Lord.

Praying together ceaselessly links us all in one accord.

PONDER- Self- sufficient people think that they do not need to pray. Coming to the end of ourselves, and our resources pushes us to pray. What a joy it would be to the Father, if we prayed regularly and talked to Him constantly BEFORE a crisis hits.  Intimacy with the father is a privilege. Prayer is relationship growth with God. How healthy and intimate is your prayer life? The privileges and results are eternal. Journal your prayers. In the lonely,  dark night of my soul, the Lord directed me to write loving letters from Him to me. The healing of that experienced was profound. Let Him meet your need. Creativity flows through Him. Sacred surprises in prayer always fulfill your personal needs. Try it and rejoice.

DEAR LORD, Thank You for teaching me to pray the way I needed to pray in the lonely, dark night of my soul. Thank You for the versatility and creativity of sincere prayer. You are a ‘need meeting” God and I thank You.  Help those reading this today to pray more often. Thank You, in advance for meeting needs as You met mine. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
