Luke 18:31- “Then He took unto Him the twelve.”

Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today

 USEFUL

One day I made a list of things that I could do for God.

I told Him all the plans I had for His Kingdom on this sod.

Then the Lord reminded me, that He had plans ahead.

But my fine list was in the way. In fact I had a “swelled head.”

Dear Pilgrim, on life’s busy way, while time is fleeting by

Your “nothing” is where God delights. Emptiness is where hopes lie.

God wants your emptiness and you before He assigns any ministry to do.

He wants you to know Him first of all until His Spirit  directs your Call.

Nothing you bring is important to Him. He’ll fully equip you when He walks in.

Poverty of Spirit with obedience of soul is all  God asks as your life long goal.

PONDER- The twelve disciples had strong personalities and brought a variety of life experiences to the group. How do you think the Lord challenged them to follow Him? Do you think there were personality clashes? List your natural talents and abilities. Give them to the Lord. Now watch as He creates, develops and fine tunes new avenues of service through you.  As long as our human list is in the way there will be little or no space for sacred surprises. Let the Lord “take you unto Himself” and journal the results.

Dear Lord, Thank you for the talents and abilities You have placed within me. Help me to watch for new adventures with You. Help me obey your leading without submitting it to my personal criteria for value or ability estimation. May the humblest task be mine for Your honor. Thank you for the new joy filled surprises and challenges that You will bring my way as I daily surrender to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
