Four -year old Timmy was stuck on his “time out chair” for what seemed to be hours. “Time outs” had become a way of life for him. Everyone was frustrated.
Daddy asked in exasperation, “Timmy, why can’t you try to be a good boy?”
“It’s much more ‘funner’ to be bad,” Timmy honestly responded.
Hebrews 12:11- “ No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, it produces a harvest of righteousness.”
As a Christian, on a scale of one to ten, how much fun did you have today? Let’s start an epidemic of joy wherever we go. Let’s show our kids that it is much more fun to be good than to be bad. Is your life so joyful that folk around will want to love Jesus because they know that He is your Source of Joy? Are you “much more funner” because YOU to walk with God?
I wonder if there is anything you’ve planned today that from God’s Point of view you need to reconsider from your “Time Out” chair? “Time out” chairs harvest wisdom.
Decades have passed since little Timmy spoke those words. “Time Out” chairs must work. Tim is now the wise Daddy of two of our precious grandchildren and a well loved son-in-law.
PS. The last time I was at Tim’s house, the “Time Out” chair was occupied!
I think someone was harvesting wisdom!
