JESUS WILL CATCH ME
On the
way to the park, Emily had lots of questions about the new, spiral slide she was
about to try out. Her questions began to indicate a lack of confidence in
conquering the “big-girls’ slide. As we rounded the corner and the slide
came into view, her fears seem to escalate. It looked gigantic to four year old
eyes. This was unusual for Emily. She was the slide connoisseur of the family.
She knew every kiddy slide in the neighborhood for miles around. She’d never
tried one quite this high.
“Nanny, Is it okay for me to ask Jesus to catch me at the bottom of the slide?”
“ Sure, Honey, but I think that’s my job today.”
“No Nanny, I think Jesus would really WANT to catch me!”
“That’s a great idea, Emily”, I replied. “Go ahead and ask HIM”
So much for a four-year old’s confidence in her grandmother!
As I
smiled to myself. I was thrilled
with Emily’s quick response to invite Jesus into her
fears.
What kinds of fears pop up along our pathway today? Let’s hope we react and respond with Emily’s child-like confidence.
“I think Jesus would really WANT to catch me.” And HE DOES.
1Peter 5:7- “Casting all your cares upon Him, for He careth for you.”
PS. Jesus caught her, but He used Nanny’s arms this time.
Nanny’s were available!
Maybe He has an assignment for your arms today.
“Get Ready, Nanny, “Here I come!”
