PERSONALITY
Personality is an influential thing. God designed us to be who we are.
There is a genuine “ me” under my mask that is hidden by sin’s evil scars.
I behave this way. I respond to you. Rarely revealing the true inner me.
Fearing that if you knew what I am you wouldn’t like the transparent me that you’d see.
God says, “Child come near and crawl on my knee. I have truth for you to face.
You are a creature of infinite worth. Now slow down and learn at My pace.
A sinful soul needs truth revealed. God loves you. Let His love break through.
There must be a vacuum that no one can fill until Jesus becomes resident in you.
There must be a need, a void or a loss before our senses are willing to see
All of the time forgiveness was there. Jesus died for our sins on the tree.
The Gospel is grand. Preaching can be great. CDs and videos do a fine work.
But unless a soul admits there’s a need, then religion is only a perk.
So let’s look for needs. Let’s volunteer time. Let’s proclaim God’s news that we know.
When God finds a personality that’s hungry inside, I long to be the one that He shows!

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: Personalities are as varied as the sands of the seas. How might your personality be used by God to win someone to Himself? What part does transparency play in ministry? Journal the signs that you have learned to indicate that a soul has a longing for the things of God. Practice some “one-liners” to initiate conversations about the Lord. Everyone has to start somewhere. GO FOR IT! Keep a log of your experiences. Enlist someone to pray for you, as you become a witness.
DEAR LORD: I am so thankful for what You have done for me by forgiving my sins and healing me. I ask You to use my healed personality to win others to You. Keep me sensitive enough to recognize those that are genuinely longing to know You. Lord; help me to realize that I might be only one part of the chain that will link a soul to you. (Statisticians tell us that it might take an average of 7 invitations for someone to come to Christ.) Help me to be faithful in my portion of the link. (Even if I’m only number five)
