December 14 - John 14:27-“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you…Let not your heart be troubled”

Remember to read MY UTMOST for HIS HIGHEST for Today

LET GO!

Why are we so tenacious? Why do we struggle so?

When God says, “Leave it with Me. I am capable, just let go!”

We’re like a frisky puppy holding on to a ragged cloth,

The Master holds one end of it but the puppy thinks he’s boss!

Oh Lord, forgive my struggling. The pain of my life is stretched and torn.

You planned to carry my burdens since the day that I was born.

Forgive the aggravation that I must bring to You each day

I’m like that silly puppy if I continue to struggle and pull away.

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: Peace and struggling do not belong in the same equation. What part does surrender play in the Christian walk? Journal the emotional relief that comes with surrender.

NOTE: If the Master lets the puppy have the ragged cloth, how quickly will the puppy loose interest in it? Consider the biggest struggle in your life today. If you were to gain control, how would you handle it? Would you quickly loose interest? Journal your thoughts.

DEAR LORD, Today, in the struggles of the mundane, help me to know when to surrender and when to be tenacious. Give me the wisdom to know which tactic to use for Your Honor and Glory. Teach me contentment during the struggles of living. In Jesus’ Name. AMEN
