If I worry about my progress

Assessing my spiritual temperature each day

Whatever God is trying to accomplish

Is calculated, timed and delayed.

I’ll be disappointed in my progress.

I’ll be upset by any weakness of heart.

Peace will be usurped by perfection

And Satan will seize space to start.

STOP, WAIT, HOLD ON for a moment.

What is happening here is your pride.

Thoughts about progress and usefulness

Are affected wherever self abides.

Forgive me Lord, for my yardsticks.

Forgive me for my progress so slow.

When all of the growth that was started

Will be paced as the Lord lets me know!

DEAR LORD, Here it is the final month of this year. I am concerned about my spiritual activities. Forgive me for thinking about my personal goals and myself when my focus should be on obedience. Thank You, for understanding the intent of my heart. May I always be more in love with You than in the activity of pleasing You. Time in Your Presence is more important than the time I work for You.

You are the lover of my soul and I love you too. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
