December 25- Isaiah 7:14-“Behold, a virgin shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name EMMANUEL, which being interpreted is GOD WITH US.”

HE CAME

He came and was born in history.

He came and planned our Call.

God came to earth in the form of a Child

(It is difficult to fathom it all.)

He came to earth. What a mystery!

How anyone could love that much?

He lived on this earth as one of us

(I’m so glad I’m healed by His touch).

He came. He was born and changed my history.

He recreated what I could become.

He saw latent potential inside of me

(And He decided to use every crumb!)

Thank You Lord for Your sacrifice.

Thank You for leaving heaven for me.

Help me to live life in such a way

That the effort was worth it to thee!

Think about the loneliest time in your life. Imagine the incredible loneliness Jesus felt leaving His heavenly home.

Have you ever been homesick? His Name, EMMANUEL infers that He understands the importance of His Presence in our lonely lives. WOW. 

DEAR LORD, Thank you that You will never leave us or forsake us. Thank you that the loneliest places on earth will never have to be lonely for us because YOU ARE THERE. You promised to be our EMMANUEL, our God identifying with ever part of our lives. Thank you for Your incredible friendship. Thank you for being born to die for our sins. Help us this Christmas to remember why You came to this earth. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN
