December 7 – 2 Corinthians 7:10-“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation.”

FORGOTTEN HOW

Have you forgotten how to be sorry?

Have you forgotten how to repent?

Have you forgotten how to be forgiven?

Then you will likely not be content.

Have you forgotten how to surrender?

Have you forgotten how to care?

Have you forgotten how to relinquish?

Then you won’t know the value of prayer

If I choose to surrender to repentance

If I choose also to forgive myself

Then I will have gained a treasure,

And found God’s Redemption itself.

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: Godly sorrow for sin involves repentance. Being sorry one was caught does not always include repentance. True repentance is a desire to change one’s life as a result of sorrow for one’s sin. Journal a love letter to the Lord, thanking Him for convicting and forgiving you. Notice He does not condemn or reject.

DEAR LORD: Thank you for convicting me enough to bring me to repentance. Thank you for dying of the cross so that I no longer need fear condemnation. Thank you that You told the adulterous woman, “Neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more.” Thank you for your continual forgiveness and the strength that You give to keep on growing repentance in the garden of my life. Help me never forget how to say, “I’m sorry. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
