December 9 – Galatians 5:24-And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

MY FUNERAL
I dreamed I was attending my funeral.
All my relatives were there.
I wasn’t asleep in my coffin.
But was invisibly seated in a chair.
My eulogy was warmly spoken.
It was flowery, entertaining at times
But with all of the tributes given
In God’s eyes they weren’t worth a dime!
There were works and accolades mentioned.
There were secrets revealed with some tears.
A couple of jokes made folks giggle
Someone even divulged a few fears.
But nobody talked about Jesus
No one even mentioned His Name.
No one said, “She introduced me
To Jesus and my direction in life changed.”
My lifetime flashed by in a few seconds.
It was too late to win more souls for Him.
What might they say, about you Pilgrim
If someone your eulogy would begin?
Would they say that they saw Jesus in you?
Would they say that they knew that you cared?
Or would they say that those mentored would miss you
As they take up your mantle of prayer?

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: Funerals are final. Are there things in life for which there should be funerals?
List old- fashioned things that have been buried that need resurrecting. List your benefactors. Beside each list the spiritual legacy that you would like to leave them. Mentoring is the best tool to ensure this. TRY IT.
DEAR LORD, Help me to realize that no matter my age I have a sphere of influence and I am mentoring others. Keep me focused on the tools you want me to teach others. Thank you for the lessons you are teaching me, because I cannot teach unless I am learning myself. Keep me teachable Lord from now until I see you face to face.
Give me the strength to continue to reinvest in others for your honor. Relationships are all I can take to heaven and I want to take “oodles” of them. I covet souls for you, Lord. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
