DIARIES
Diaries are collections of memories and records of special times
But a diary for my daughter is written with my personal comfort in mind.
I laugh, I cry, I giggle as I write about her early life.
I remember all the good times before any painful strife.
I move around my memory recalling the darling dimples on her chin.
Remembering her innocent happiness before evil thoughts of sin.
I reminisce about her days of schooling. I recall the wonderful friends she had.
But as a Christian parent I was innocently unaware of life’s bad.
But bad is a part of earthly living. Living without her is tough.
Someday God in His Mercy will say, “Dear Parent, you’ve had enough.”
But for now, I pray in faithfulness, that God will keep nourishing every seed
That I planted with such fervor teaching my tiny tot at my knee.
NOW, my work is almost over. It is my time to rest and wait.
Releasing all parenting to Jesus because His Parenting is never late.
No matter her age, stage or station, God’s love will not let her go.
As I pick up my pen to record it, healing hope begins to flow.

Written for parents who have been there, done that and are gradually learning to release the maintenance of their child to the Lord. Journal the good things you remember teaching your child. Those are planted seeds. STOP planting now. Too much seed will be wasted as it shrivels and dies. (Do you tend to zealously overseed/preach? Talk to a farmer. He’ll tell you that you are making a mistake.. Sometimes there is a time to stop sowing. Wait until God brings dormant seeds to life. The Bible says that there is a time to plant and a time to water, etc.
Your tears have already watered the soil God is suing. Praise Him. Spring always follows the winter. Fallow ground is necessary for healthy, eventual growth.
TRAIN UP A CHILD IN THE WAY HE SHOULD GO AND WHEN HE IS OLD, HE WILL NOT DEPART FROM IT….but for now, stay out of God’s WAY!
