A TWO WAY STREET

God will speak if I listen. God performs if I yield.

But God remains in total silence unless I open a field.

God knows that I respect Him by the response He has from me.

He knows when I am listening as I wait on bended knee.

My God is always with me, but I don’t always hear His Voice.

Because I’m not alert and listening as I continually change my choice.

Communication often happens between my Lord and me

I’ m asking endless questions and His answers set me free.

Lord, help me cultivate the discipline of listening to what You say.

Until You and I together have communication at least two ways.

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: Communication with God comes in many ways. List the ways you hear from God. Which is your favorite? How might you mentor someone who wants to hear from God personally? List the changes you need to make in your life to hear from Him more frequently.

DEAR JESUS: Thank you for communicating with me in numerous ways. Thank you for the lessons I learn as you talk with me. Help me to listen for Your Voice through many avenues and events of life. Thank you for the Bible, which is the best way to hear from you. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
