Matthew 10:27- “What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light; and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.”
Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today
IN THE DARK
Birds can sing in the darkness.
Flowers bloom through the snow.
Much of what God wants to teach us
Is taught when Life’s storms blow.
Watch, be alert in life’s darkness.
Many truths will be taught before dawn.
The watchmen on the wall in the night time
Know first hand when the enemy is gone.
God has much to teach in life’s darkness.
Humility and surrender walk there.
It is a privilege to serve in the nighttime
Personal intimacy is nurtured everywhere.
So sing in the darkness, dear Pilgrim.
Serve well in the arms of His Care.
The God of both the daylight and darkness
Is strengthening your heart, even there.

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: Why does darkness seem to carry loneliness with it? In the darkness of your soul, what lessons might be learned? List the lessons you have learned in the darkest times of your life. What causes spiritual darkness? Using the following as strategy, what part does obedience play in the timing of an early dawn?
1. Keep your mouth shut. 2. Remain quiet. 3. Take time to listen.
DEAR LORD, Thank You that in the darkness of life, we are never alone. You have promised to never leave us or forsake us and we thank You for that love gift to us.
Keep us alert to learn what You want to teach us through this time in our lives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
