Matthew 26:46-“Rise, let us be going”
Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today
HUMANITY
They fell asleep on Jesus. He had only asked them to pray.
They fell asleep on Jesus. Human weariness was in the way.
Disappointment is part of living. Human regrets haunt with defeat.
But Jesus says, “Keep on going. I know every obstacle you will meet.”
So I will welcome His leading. Past failures might attempt to control.
But because of the great love of Jesus, His Patience provides new goals.
“Arise my child”, says the Savior. “Arise and let us begin.”
Hand in hand with my Savior my humanity is available for Him.
So if I sleep when I should be praying. If I’m silent when I should speak
Then I ask forgiveness of Jesus and move on admitting I’m weak.
When I am weak, He heals me. When I am strong, He is blessed.
Whatever and however I serve Him my forgiven heart is at rest.

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: Journal the reasons you identify with the sleeping disciples.
List the times you have wakened in the night to pray. What were the results? Praying without ceasing is a tall order. How might that be accomplished? Create a prayer list. Waiting rooms, line-ups, traffic jams are wonderful prayer closets. Take advantage of every nugget of waiting times to pray. Try it for 10 days with tenacity. Journal the results. IDEA-If you don’t have a list handy, begin by praying for everyone you know whose name begins with A, then B, etc.)
DEAR LORD, Thank you for the privilege of prayer. Forgive me for the times when I have disappointed YOU by not coming to You with my petitions. Thank You for loving me in my laziness. Thank You for Your encouragement and loving approval every day. Thank You for the joy I always find as I wait in Your Presence.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
