2 Corinthians 12:15- “Though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.

Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today

NO RETURN EXPECTED

If I serve the Lord expecting treasured accolades to begin

Then I’ll be disappointed when popularity polls grow dim.

If I serve the Lord expecting my name in laser lights

Then all my human efforts will be over with the night.

If I serve the Lord with humility, basin and towel in my hand

Then the fragrance of His Presence will diminish praise from man.

Lord, make our tender hearts teachable until our thoughts are centered on You

So that any ministry offered includes self totally hidden from view.

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: List some ministries that frequently go unnoticed in churches, in communities, and in homes. How many “behind the scenes” events should those in full time ministry perform? What is the difference between performing and serving?

What is balance in ministry? What might cause a ministry to become a popularity contest?

DEAR LORD, Thank you for the privilege of choosing all of those who love You as Your Servants. Help us to develop the discipline of choosing “basin and towel” tasks.

Thank you for the privilege of serving You. Help me to become an encourager for those who serve You in all walks of life. If anointed ministry is  birthed from You, may I be as interested in my brother’s Call as I am in mine. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN
