Philippians 2:17 –Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy and rejoice with you all”

Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today

BENEATH ME

What is it that you loathe to do?

What to you is a menial task?

What has become beneath your style?

That might be exactly what God will ask.

What causes you to fuss, fume or burn?

What has become your last choice of all?

“Try it”, the Father gently suggests

“It could be an important part of My Call.”

What makes you totally repulse?

What automatically turns you away?

It could be a sacred life lesson

God lovingly prepared for today.

Pick up the ugly and loathsome.

Take hold of the lost and the least.

God teaches His obedient children

In the simplistic and gently meek.

It could be in that dreaded task

God has hidden a sacred jewel.

Do the least and the most bothersome first.

It is always God’s obedience school.

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: What does “Beauty for ashes” mean to you? How might God place beauty in the humble tasks? Name the worst task you have had to do in life. If the measure of a saint were directly proportionate to the number of servant hood tasks he secretly performs, how would you rate? Mentor someone into servanthood.

Dear Lord, Keep me alert to the servant tasks around me. Help me to represent You well by performing whatever is placed before me. Remind me regularly that you took a basin and towel and washed the disciple’s feet. Keep me in the “foot washing mode” all the rest of my days. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
