FEBRUARY 7
Luke 24:21-“But we trusted…and besides all this, today is the third day…”
Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today
DEMANDING
I demanded something from God today
When I prayed my specific prayer.
I demanded action for my cause
I knew God’s answer was there somewhere!
I waited impatiently in His arms
I knew that my prayers carry clout
But I was so insistent for my needs
That I was ready to scream and shout.
“What is the purpose of prayer, My Child
What is the reason you so anxiously ask?
God is fully aware of your need
Before His assignment for daily tasks.
Prayer should bring you closer to God.
Prayer offers you His wonderful Peace
Prayer is intimacy with the Lord
Prayer includes simplicity of speech.”
…..FORGIVE ME LORD….
First I’ll praise and worship my Lord.
Then I’ll pray my heartfelt needs.
“Forgive me Lord, for my demanding tone
I am blessed as You intercede.”

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: If the purpose of prayer is more about our relationship with God and less about the answers, what causes tunnel vision? How might preconceived agendas affect our prayer life? Pray aloud. Listen. Are you demanding or requesting?
Submit to an attitude check regularly. Write your prayers in a prayer journal. Date them. Date the answers also.
DEAR LORD, Thank you for the privilege of prayer. Thank you for my growing confidence in the power of prayer. Help me to exercise faith without making demands. Teach me how to pray, Lord. Use me as a praying pilgrim. May I be so sensitive to the needs of others that I pray their needs through Your loving eyes?
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
