GOOD PARENT

I thought I had been a good parent. The books I read helped a lot.

Dr. Spock and Gerber’s cereals created our wonderful tiny tot.

I thought I was a good parent. We read the Bible, God’s parenting plan.

We listened to advice from others. We thanked God for our little man.

But somewhere along in our journey, either Dr. Spock or we messed up.

God was still in the equation, but we discovered a dreadful relational disrupt.

The subtle tools of the enemy caught us totally unaware.

We wanted to be good parents, but deceptions developed from thin air.

We called on God in our dilemmas, experiencing His steadfast Love.

But we were drowning as parents under this dreadful rebellious shove.

Through many tears and deep trials, God held us faithfully in His Hand.

Saying, “I lovingly created your child. I died so he would follow My Plan.”

God had many lessons to teach us. Sometimes they were not our choice.

When all of it was over, we remembered clearly hearing God’s Voice.

Today if your heart is breaking. Shattering relationships may be all you hear.

God has not forgotten you, dear Parents. To all prodigals He stays near.

The seeds planted in early childhood, carry God’s wonderful plans to win.

God’s thoughts haven’t changed one iota, just because sin came in.

Hold on and stop preaching your sermons. Your child has heard them all.

Be steadily faithful in the background. God has already planned His Call.

God might lead a stranger to reach him. Pray that Godly directives are obeyed.

Your assignment, dear caring Parent is to release and to watch while you pray.

PS. NOW begin using the tools of forgiveness. Erase all your pain from the past.

Forgiveness is very important, dear Parent, or no ones healing will last.
