Matthew 5:26- “Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou have paid the uttermost farthing.”

Search my heart, dear Father with the searchlight of Your love.
Reveal to me Your secrets as You scrutinize from above.
Is there subtle, deceptive sinning? Are there hidden crevices within
Hidden by sin’s masquerade, old Satan planned to win?
Uncover any debts I owe. Reveal any secretive miry place.
Resurrecting insidious sneaky sins that I chose to never face.
Search my soul revealing to me any damage complacency has done
Until my heart is daily cleansed by the forgiveness of Your Son.
Uncover any pain I’ve caused. Forgiveness is a two-way goal.
Unforgiveness is a tool from hell that extracts a heavy toll.
Then as my life is purified and until the day I see Your Face
May I be truly sanctified, joyfully running eternity’s race.

PONDER-Before radar, computers, etc. giant searchlights were used to guide night flying aircraft home. What tools might God use to guide us safely to Himself? Recall the searchlights/tools/people that God has brought across your path to keep you on track and lead you to Him. Journal God’s creative love to you. A price must be paid for sin. Jesus paid it all. Can sin be avoided? What part does obedience play? How does the Holy Spirit factor into the equation? Journal the joy and relief of submitting to His forgiveness.
DEAR LORD, Thank you for the unconditional love for me. Thank you that Jesus paid the supreme penalty for my sins by dying on Calvary’s cross to take the punishment for my sins. Help me to submit to the searchlight of Your Word to keep me in the path or beam of Your Will for my life. Thank you for the peace that comes when I follow You obediently. Thank you that I can trust You to guide me safely home. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
