Matthew 5:39- “But I say unto you, that ye resist not evil; but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.”

 CHEEK TURNING

Dear Lord, I’ve been insulted. Those folks made fun of me.

Speaking mockery against me, as if I had no feelings like a tree.

I tried to rescue and help them, investing hours for their personal cause.

Now they have spoken falsehoods, shattering God’s ten basic laws.

“My Child,” the Father whispers. “My Child, hold steady with Me.

Their lying words are evil spoken. For all liars I died on the tree.

You have chosen to walk in silence. You, My Child, are free.

Now forgive their evil conduct. Cheek turning comes from Me.

Cuddle close to My Bosom. Wait patiently in My Arms.

Your calm attitude is My Pleasure. Forgiveness causes Satan deep harm.”

Cheek turning is a choice for the Master. Cheek turning offers Satan no choice.

Cheek turning is obedience to the Father causing heaven’s angels to rejoice.

PONDER-Personal insults create a platform for revealing spiritual temperature. Insisting on our own rights or our own ego to be satisfied stifles the Holy Spirit’s freedom in us.

Cheek turning is often misunderstood. Journal your life journey in cheek turning. Become aware of times when you have needed someone to turn the other cheek for you.

DEAR LORD, Thank you for dying for all sinners. Thank you for the times when you have forgiven me when I was undeserving. Help me to realize that many times hurt people hurt each other because they have unforgiveness festering inside them. Help me to keep on forgiving others like You do. Help me to remember Your Words from the Cross when You said, “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.” In Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
