Innocence is a funny thing,
Trying to cover heart conditions a lot.
Innocence camouflages God’s truth.
Avoiding issues when I’d rather not.
Rather not face God’s searchlight.
Rather not face God’s truth.
Innocence is a temporary blanket
Covering the sins of my youth.
I’m a coward. Protected by running.
Labeling innocence, “that’s not sin.”
Innocence creates an open doorway
Allowing both Satan and his kin to walk in.
Drop cowardly innocent handles.
Come clean. Don’t hide out in fear.
God knows the true heart of the innocent
His Spirit teaches the innocent to hear.
Truth is of value to Jesus.
Open hearts learn God’s point of View.
The excuse of ignorance will vanish
When the forgiveness of Jesus breaks through.

PONDER- There is an age of innocence, a state of ignorance and a time of purity.
Ponder the differences. Which involve obedience? Who holds the control of each?
What are the steps to change the above? How important is the Bible in the changes?
Dear Lord, Thank you for the innocence of a child. Thank you for the knowledge and conviction that Your Word and Your Holy Spirit brings to our hearts. Thank you for dying on the cross for our sins. I now accept this loving gift of salvation. Make me an obedient child of God. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
