Psalm 37:8 – Fret not thyself, it tendeth only to do evil.

Please remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today

FRETTING

Fretting is a sinful thing curdling any cream from the crop.

It drains away the joy of life. Christians who fret should stop.

Fretting is caused by lack of faith. Fretting extracts a high price.

Fretting affects physical health, clamping any joy in a vice.

Fretting influences those who hear. Fretting is contagious too.

Fretting festers fear in us, affecting what we say and do.

Lord, walk across our concerns in life. Help us commit every fear to You.

Give us the wisdom to do our part while trusting what You will do.

May we demonstrate the joy freedom brings. May we represent You well.

Let us acknowledge that every fear has it’s source in the pit of hell.

God is not the author of fear. God’s promises are still Divine.

He will replace all fear with trust as He renews our joy filled minds.

PONDER-Fretting brings selfishness into problems. Under the disguise of concern for others, many people fret and worry. If fretting does not give God His rightful place in the equation, think about how He might like to solve the issues. What part does faith, obedience and surrender play in the solution? Write the dilemma of concern. Rewrite it with yourself and your opinionated solutions missing. Write it a third time from God’s point of view. Enjoy the exercise and joy of surrender.

Dear Lord, Forgive me for trying to be YOU and solve the problems of life around me. Forgive me for the wasted energy of fretting. Forgive me for showing lack of respect  and trust in You. Forgive that I neglected to give You my problems. Thank You for the joy You have as I release my worries and concerns to You daily.  Help me to make this a habit. What a wonderful heavenly Father you are! In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
