Matthew 14:29-30-“and Peter…walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid.”

 RECOGNIZING JESUS

Am I recognizing Jesus in the boisterous storms of life?

Am I recognizing my Jesus or do I see only stress and strife?

Am I recognizing Jesus before I understand the words He said?

Am I recognizing Jesus and in obedience plunging ahead?

Am I recognizing Jesus in spite of turbulence all around?

Am I accepting His calm assurance knowing His Influence is profound?

Am I recognizing Jesus as His Spirit  reveals my transparent soul?

Am I responding with true humility keeping focused on His ultimate goal?

Jesus understood why Peter was fearful. He was there while Peter walked.

He’ll be there in your deepest waters, unto your storms our Savior talks.

He’ll speak and the winds will dissipate. He moves and the waves obey.

Recognize, dear weary Pilgrim, His Power has not changed today.

Recognize the Words and the Speaker. Recognize His Power to save.

Peter recognized Jesus and launched out before he was brave!

Ponder or Journal- What if Peter had never walked? Has God been trying to nudge you out of the boat and into deep waters? When do you plan to walk? After the storm, when the boat is closer to shore? When there are more life jackets or a better fitting ones available? Are you waiting for someone to come with you? Shake off your lethargy and walk. Bravery comes AFTER the launching. Enjoy the journey.  You might be in the midst of a miracle. You could change history. Peter did and we’re still talking about Peter’s adventures…Keep your miracle journals up to date.

Dear Lord, Forgive my timidity when You provide opportunities for me to experience Your Presence. I want to do something spectacular for you. Teach and guide me today. For Jesus’ Sake, Amen.
