Job 42:10-“and the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends.”

 WHEN WE PRAY

When we forgive and pray for a disloyal friend who has been a jerk to us,

We are defeating Satan’s atmosphere. God placed us in this position of trust.

When we pray for people walking in unbelief, we are praying up a storm.

We’re freeing ourselves to live aright when life seems far from the norm.

When we pray for people’s attitudes to become harmonious with the Lord’s

Every facet of their lives will be blessed when they finally “come on board.”

When we pray for weary folk each day, be they an enemy or a friend,

Praying for others is good for us knowing God’s mercy never ends.

Job’s friends did not deserve Job’s love. They did not deserve God’s care

But Job decided to obey His God and Job’s life was saturated with prayer.

Job prayed for his friends. Job’s health was changed. He prayed while in deep pain.

Job knew his Calling and he trusted God. Job knew that in spite of pain God reigns.

Whatever the test, the trial or the cross, no matter what comes your way.

Remember Job’s condition changed the moment Job decided to pray.

Ponder or Journal-True followers of God pray without ceasing. IF we were to pray continually, what changes would we make in our life style, our relationships and our activities. Unless we pray we are held captive by circumstances, sins or life choices.

Try praying constantly. Check your favorite prayer topics. Have you formed prayer habits rather than praying with the mind of Christ. Journal your prayers. Categorize them.

How might they become more effective? Try conversational prayer. Try prayer lists.

Watch for sacred surprises resulting from a renewed, vigorous prayer life.

Dear Lord, Teach me to pray as You would have me pray. Keep me focused on topics, styles of prayer and choices of prayer topics. Enlarge my intercession ministry. Help me to learn to pray through until I have touched the Throne room. Make me conscious of the “when” of praying more than the “why” of praying. Thank you for the privilege of praying. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
