In this life of ease and affluence some goodness often abounds.
But underneath the masks of man, diabolical sin is always found.
We sugar coat the covering, using humor, praise or greed
To masquerade the truth that’s ill from sinful evil deeds.
Human beings are delightful, created to be charming and fun.
But underneath our manners fine, Satan cocks his diabolical gun.
Hold steady faithful child of God. Be aware of sins’ disguise.
Recognize that God is in control and Satan is about to be surprised.
Keep alert, dear Child of God. Walk confidently wherever you go.
God has equipped you to run this race and Satan is a defeated foe.

Journal or Ponder-Often we forget the power of Satan when things are going well.
This is called complacency. Keep alert. List the ways Satan has tried to trick, tempt or mislead you in the last 24 hours. Beside each, recall how the Lord protected you. Praise Him and keep alert. Jesus quoted scripture to defeat Satan. Jesus was tempted, but never sinned. He understands. Remember-“Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.” Memorize the Word. It is great ammunition.
Dear Lord, Thank you for the power of Your Presence and Your Word. Keep me alert to the fiery darts of the enemy. Help me to encourage those who are sometimes under the bondage of temptation. Thank you that through the shed blood of Jesus Christ I am forgiven. Thank you for dying for my sins. I accept Your forgiveness today and everyday. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
