OBEDIENCE

Obedience is a pleasure between my Lord and me.

In obedience, I give homage as I bow with bended knee.

Obedience is a privilege with a posture to belong.

In obedience, I find refuge, recognizing where I’m strong.

Obedience is a decision. It is a place where self must die.

Obedience nurtures creativity beneath my Savior’s eye.

POINTS TO PONDER or JOURNAL: A servant cannot be a servant without obedience.

List the attributes of a good servant or employee. Which are the easiest? Which are the most difficult to perform? Relationship with the one in authority affects the joy of servant hood. Whom do you serve? What is your relationship to the One you serve?

Dear Lord, Help me to serve You well wherever You place me. May I also be the best  secular employee my employer ever had. May I walk so close to You that when You reveal Your Will for my life, I respond quickly with joy. Teach me to listen well.
