MARCH 21

Galatians 2:20-“I have been crucified with Christ.”

Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today

MY RIGHTS

“I have my human rights!” you declare.

“I have my rights of space and worth.

I am an individual with special gifts

Privileges of mine since my early birth.”

“Yes,” my Child,  “I know well your price.

I paid dearly to set you free.

But in all the freedoms you received

Did you ever think about Me?

Did you know that I personally created you?

Did you know that I died on the cross?

Did you know that those freedoms about which you speak

Include My forgiveness which guarantees Satan’s loss?”

LATER

“Yes, My Lord, I want more of You

I now see the way I have come.

I was claiming the path of my rights.

Sin had selfishly blinded me some.

I now crucify any rights to myself.

I release all of my control with deep shame.

I relinquish my will to follow Your Cross.

In Your Cross, I joyfully carry Your Name.”

JOURNAL JOTTINGS – What created the turning point in the poem? Compare earthly rights with our heavenly rights. Find someone upset about his or her lack of earthly  “human rights”. Begin to pray for them. Journal the results of your obedience.

DEAR LORD, Thank you that on this earth we have no rights guaranteed. Thank you for the blessings that you bring to us on this earthly pilgrimage. Help us to remind ourselves regularly that we are Pilgrims and Strangers on this earth. Help us to encourage others to also become homesick for heaven. Thank you for preparing a place for us to dwell with You forever. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
