March 3-John 21:17- “Feed My Sheep”

Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today

SHEEP

Sheep are such a sorry lot, bedraggled with matted coats, soiled.

God cares about those butting sheep, as they blindly become embroiled.

Sheep are timid and easily led. Sheep can grow lazy with fat.

Undeserving of the care they have, they don’t even know where they’re at!

Lord, You refer to people as Your Sheep. You know every frailty in us.

Offering Your Son to die for  our sin, in Your daily forgiveness we trust.

Lord, walk across our timid hearts. Our sins are no surprise to You.

Loving enough to give Your Best, You provided Grace with Mercy too.

You will forgive and clean us up, providing all the nourishment we need.

Help us appreciate all You have done, as we choose to follow Your lead.

POINTS TO PONDER or Journal

Learn about sheep and their care. Jesus often gave teachings using objects and illustrations from everyday life. List human characteristics that caused Jesus to compare us to sheep.

Make a diary of your day. Mark the events that proved to you that God was with you as your loving Shepherd, care-giving Friend. Have you fed any sheep lately? What might God be asking you to do through the challenge, “FEED MY SHEEP”? He will equip as we obey Him. CHALLENGE - Prove Him today and keep alert!

DEAR LORD, Thank you that you provide so bountifully for me everyday. Help me to obey when You invite me to “FEED” Your sheep. Teach me when to speak and when to listen. Give me a caring, mentoring, shepherding heart.

Help me to realize today and every day the value of one lost sheep. May I always be sensitive to the wounded sheep that cross my pathway. Thank you for the privilege of walking daily with the GOOD SHEPHERD. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
