 DUTY

Sometimes I’m called to Duty.

To unobtrusively walk in love

Expecting no fire or burning bush

Yet finding inspiration from above.

Duty obscures the spectacular.

Duty recognizes God’s call.

Duty is a pattern for service

With few mountaintop views at all.

Lord, walk across any mundane duties

That You place on my pathway today

Knowing Your orchestration of duty

Provides Your sufficiency all the way.

I will be fortified as You lead me.

Long ago, I learned to obey Your Voice.

Help me in the obscurity of service

To graciously and continually rejoice.

Journal Jottings : Recall today’s most mundane duty. How do you KNOW that it is God’s Will for you today? What praise points are found in this duty? List them.

DEAR LORD, In the line of duty today, help me to learn to praise You. Help me to recognize Your Presence in the unobtrusive. Help me to realize that the mundane, might in fact be the location of a “burning bush experience in my life. Thank you Lord. Forgive me for almost missing it. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN
