MAY 13
Acts 24:16-“A conscience void of offence toward God and toward men.”
Please remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today
OPEN ON THE INSIDE
We say, “I can open any door I want to.”
Remarking, “WHATEVER!” when opportunity knocks.
But God says, “Child, I am curious
What about this door with several rusty locks?”
The door of, “I’d be too embarrassed.”
The complaint of, “I’m too weary today.”
The query of, “Who gave you the authority?”
And of course, “Why didn’t they do it my way?”
Lord, forgive those doors still not opened
Because of my lack of obedience and trust in You.
Help me to surrender my fear filled arguments.
My intellect creates roadblocks. It’s true.
Sometimes the Father requests a task so simplistic
That we rudely shut the door in God’s Face.
Lord, help us be so open to You on the inside
That folk personally experience God’s Grace.
Am I open enough to hear God’s whisper?
Will I be open enough to declare His Joy?
May I be open enough to do something so sacred
That Satan becomes defeated and annoyed!

JOURNAL JOTTINGS or POINTS TO PONDER- Recall what you have been doing the past 24 hours. Is there anything you have said or done that is bothering your conscience? How does one clear one’s conscience so much that they become “ open on the inside”? Do it now. “Open on the inside” means nothing between my soul and the Savior.
Dear Lord, Forgive me for_______________. I am thankful that You gave me a sensitive conscience. Thank you for the work of the Holy Spirit that convicts me and keeps me from evil. Help me to keep short accounts with You. Thank you that You never condemn, but You lovingly convict. Help me to regularly forgive myself and others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
