REAR VIEW MIRROR

If I drive my car with my main focus looking to the back,

Then any front view protection will have a decided lack.

If I live my life from my memories reminiscing about “way back then”

I’ll never notice all the blessings God prepared around the next bend.

If I drive or live looking backwards, “what might have been” is in the way

Lord keep my focus looking forward, anticipating Your Presence everyday.

Old memories are treasures to be cherished. Past lessons were good to learn.

But Lord forgive the bad habit of expressing, “for yesteryear I yearn.”

Today offers fresh new moments. Today hold blessings brand new.

Today if our eyes keep focused we won’t miss God’s next point of view.

Dear Lord, Thank You that Your blessings are new every morning. Thank You that there is nothing ever stale or stagnant about You. Thank You for Your Power, Peace and Presence in our lives. Thank You for the privileges of walking with You day by day.
