MAY 18

Matthew 6:26, 28-“Behold the fowls of the air….consider the lilies of the field.”

LIVE A LIFE

The birds of the air simply flutter. The flowers of the field simply grow.

Why do I put so much effort into working for God? Does it show?

Birds of the air sing and praise Him. Flowers shed fragrance all ways.

Why do I work at my praising with drums and cymbals that craze?

Lord, forgive my work and my effort to drum up a song for You.

When all You wanted was my loving  and I thought I had much  to do.

Lord, walk across my fine tuning. My heart is now singing Your Praise.

I rejoice in the simplicity of worship. Today I will seek Your Ways.

Your Ways could be silence in grandeur. Your Ways might be anthems that praise.

But Your Way is a life lived with pleasure relaxing as You order our days.

Birds have no preconceived agendas. Flowers have no motives but to grow.

God make my life so in sync with Yours that Your Will begins to flow.

Thank you for Your birds and flowers. Thank you for reminding me to wait.

Thank you for the lessons you teach us.    May I live my life for Jesus’ Sake.

POINTS TO PONDER or Journal Jottings- Compare your last 24 hours with a bird’s or flower’s life. What is God’s idea regarding our stress levels? In the next 24 hours, keep reminding yourself as you follow your realistic agenda, how bird like or flower like you  could be. Memorized Matthew 6:26 to 28.  Journal the difference of claiming this scripture for yourself. Buy yourself a bird or a flowering plant. WHO DOES THE WORK?

Dear Jesus, Thank You for the lessons You taught while on this earth. Help me to be as teachable as you intended your listeners to be then. Thank you for the difference it makes in my life as “bird-like, and flower like” I depend on YOU as my Source and Care Giver.

Thank you for the sacred surprises I am finding as the Peace of Your Presence invades every area of my realistic, hectic world. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
