QUESTIONS

People are filled with questions.

Skepticism furrows the brow.

We wonder, we ponder, we vacillate

Stifling the Holy Spirit somehow.

People ask intelligent, sensible questions

Their I.Q proudly on display

But the Lord with a Divine, planned agenda

Is limited, because we won’t trust and obey.

Lord, forgive prideful, “more information”

It is a tool causing insecurity in me.

Thinking, “If I estimate the outcome

I’ll be better equipped to serve Thee.”

In our search for comfortable answers

Have we stifled what faith we knew?

Where is our old, “Faith of our Fathers?”

Sadly, it died as our intellect grew.

Pride is practiced to pose questions.

Pride is fear-filled analysis with threats.

God says, “Child, learn to trust Me.

I haven’t abandoned you yet!”

Today if we question God’s leading

 Bringing honest concerns His way

He is more than willing to teach us

Because we are learning to trust and obey.

POINTS TO PONDER or JOURNAL-Jesus knows the difference between an honest seeker and a skeptic. List your “seeker” questions. Mark them in order of importance to you. Begin to pray and commit each to the Lord. Be careful not to pick them up again after they are given to Him. Note the date the answer came. Journal the peace that follows.

Dear Lord, Thank you that our questions are not a problem to You because You have the answers. Forgive us for not releasing then to You sooner. Help me to be alert to the answers You bring through a variety of sources. It is a joy to daily walk and talk with You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
