DISCIPLES

If someone comes to Jesus, God recreates new life again.

Transforming words and activities encouraging them to plunge in.

Disciples should be taught by Jesus, sometimes with the help of a friend.

When Jesus creates a disciple, loyalty to Him will definitely extend.

BUT, If I create a disciple, if I teach him all that I know

Then when my earthly life is over, where will that poor disciple go?

STOP STOP, dear Christian leader. Put the Savior high on your list.

Teach new converts to pursue Him. They might learn what you have missed!

Teach them to devour the Bible. Teach them to worship and praise.

Teach them to obey your Jesus and YOU stay out of God’s Way!

You have the privilege of praying and listening. You can encourage and praise.

Teaching them to obey ONLY JESUS will strengthen them all their days.

A disciple is as strong as his teacher and if His teacher is Jesus alone.

When God creates a disciple, the disciple will become bone of HIS bone.

POINTS TO PONDER or Journal – If freedom is the result of a liberated conscience, list the areas of life from which you have been liberated since Jesus forgave your sins. How might the personal opinions of a leader shape or sway a new believer. How might a disciple learn true discipleship? List new believers for whom you are praying and mentoring as the Lord leads you. What have you learned from a new believer?

DEAR LORD, Thank you for the discipleship teaching found in the Bible. Help me keep a teachable spirit as I filter all teaching through the standards of Your Word. Help me to encourage others, but not dictate. Help me to rejoice, but never drive a tender new believer. Help me bathe new believers in prayer regularly. Keep my mentoring skills alert. Keep me learning about You from others as well as from Your Word. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
