“MOMMY! MOMMY! MOMMY”
Three times, little Kevin called his Mommy to come and help him.
Three times she replied, “In a minute, Honey.” and “Not right now, Dear.” and “After I put these cookies in the oven.”
Kevin’s impatience mushroomed.
Three-year-olds are not exactly experts at the waiting room. Finally the fourth time he shouted “Mommy, will you come in here right NOW and look after your little boy?”
How quickly do you think Mommy moved this time?
Kevin had Mommy’s attention and also had her smile.
The Bible says, “Ye have not, because ye ask not!”-James 4:2
1 John 5:15-(LB) “If we really know He is listening when we talk to Him and make our requests, then we can be sure He will answer us.”
Kevin discovered that his request would be answered in direct proportion to the sincerity of his request. (Volume might have had something to do with it also!)
Kevin persisted, Mommy came, need was met.
Do you have a prayer request that you have prayed many times? Don’t give up.
LESSONS Kevin learned:
1. I am loved.
2. It is okay to ask for help.
3. Sincere persistence pays off.
4. God shows up even if Mommy doesn’t.
5. Some things in life are dangerous.
6.Cold water removes bloodstains.
7. My dog likes burned cookies.
PS. Daddy cheers bravery. God does too!
