THE CHILDREN SPEAK

(Names have been changed in this section to respect confidentiality)

Little Amy wanted her lonely Daddy to have a Christmas tree in his tiny apartment. She was motivated. He finally agreed. She was comforted and so was he. I asked her to write a poem about it. May her poem comfort you today.

MY CHRISTMAS TREE

I have a small Christmas tree.

It is as tiny as can be.

At the top, I put a big star.

Like the one the wise men saw from afar.

On the tree, I put up tinsel.

It is gold and silver, white and red.

Daddy can see it from his pillow.

As he lays upon his bed.

The lights on the tree are shining

Even though I’m  far away.

He can turn the lights on at Christmas.

And enjoy my little tree each day.

So you see I like to decorate,

My little Christmas tree.

Daddy’s tree is little

It’s as tiny as can be.

Pray for children everywhere who are adjusting to celebrations in a variety of homes and co-operating with adult schedules. May God gift those darling children with abundant, insulated JOY from JESUS this Christmas.
