OCTOBER 23-2 Cor.5:17-“If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.”

MY BAGGAGE

I brought my baggage to Jesus

It was wrapped with a bow to show.

It carried plenty of years of wisdom

God said, “Untie it and let it go”.

I brought my baggage to Jesus

It was filled with sermons and slides

But God said, “Child just dump it

I’m more interested in your insides”.

I brought my emptiness to Jesus

Old doctrine and structure were gone

He said, “Child now rest on my bosom.

I want to teach you a true love song.”

Cuddle close in My tender embracing.

Learn well what is near to My heart.

Now that your baggage is dealt with

Your mind is uncluttered to start.

I’ll refill you with My love and compassion

I’ll teach you some new songs to sing.

Now that you’re open and stretching

A teachable spirit recognizes who’s King.”

So God used my baggage to build on.

He revealed what was bondage for me

He taught me from His Word by His Spirit

And He lovingly set this Pilgrim free.

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: What is new today in your walk with God? Journal something NEW that you learn about Him every day. What are you learning about yourself as you are learning about HIM? Journal every sacred surprise with joy.

DEAR LORD; Why do we make it so difficult for ourselves to simply trust you? Forgive us for the control issues we neglect to relinquish daily. Help us to sing with gusto, “Trust and obey, for there’s no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.” Keep us walking with YOU today in the light of Your Word. What Glory we will find on our way. Thank you Lord, for the old hymns of the faith. What a heritage we can enjoy, simply TRUST AND OBEY.

In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
